Jim's Devotional - October 31st

Isaiah 43:1&2 was written to Israel, but for us. It says, “But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”

What wonderful truths are in these two verses. He created us. He formed us. He redeemed us. He called us by name (He knows us personally). We are His. Wherever He leads us, He will protect us. We might get lowered over a wall in a basket (Acts 9:25). We might go through shipwrecks and abandonment from others (2nd Corinthians 11:22-33). Or we may be persecuted. No matter what, the Holy Spirit will be right there with us. Father will send Angels (perhaps in human form) to minster to us (Matthew 4:11).
