This message challenges us to reconsider our understanding of God's justice and how it intersects with His mercy. We're reminded that the same God who moves powerfully at church camp is present with us every single day, not confined to special places or experiences.

The heart of the message explores a difficult truth: God is not just loving and merciful, but also perfectly just. Through the story of a college professor and his students, we see how we often move from amazement at grace to assuming we deserve it, and finally to demanding it as our right. But grace is never something we earn or deserve—it's always a gift.

The message walks us through what justice really means: God is consistent, virtuous, right, impartial, and precise in all His ways. We struggle with God's justice for four main reasons: we base fairness on our changing feelings, we compare our sins to others and think ours are less severe, we confuse fairness with justice, and we want to believe God is only love.

The beautiful climax comes at the cross, where justice and mercy meet. God couldn't simply overlook sin and remain just, so He provided the ultimate sacrifice through Jesus Christ. When we believe in Him, we're declared not guilty—justified, as if we'd never sinned. This transforms how we view both our struggles and our salvation.
