What was the world like before everything changed? Genesis chapter 6 pulls back the curtain on a pre-flood earth that most of us have never fully imagined, and the picture it reveals is staggering. We explore the idea that our planet once existed under an ice canopy that filtered radiation, elevated oxygen levels, and doubled atmospheric pressure, creating conditions where humans lived for centuries, animals grew to enormous sizes, and simply breathing felt effortless.

This is not science fiction. It is a serious creationist framework that connects directly to what Scripture describes in Genesis 1 when God separated the waters above the firmament from the waters below. When we understand what existed before the flood, the flood itself stops feeling like a Sunday school story and starts feeling like the most catastrophic and consequential event in human history. Billions of people perished. A pristine world was shattered. And yet, in the middle of that devastation, one man found favor in the eyes of God. Noah walked with God when no one around him did.

That truth alone is worth sitting with, because it raises the most personal question we can ask ourselves: are we walking with God today, in whatever world surrounds us?
