What does it look like to stand calm at the door of a lighthouse while waves crash all around? That image sits at the heart of this powerful message about navigating the storms of life. Drawing from the familiar words of Psalm 23 and the promise in Genesis 28 that God will never leave us until He has done what He has spoken, we are reminded that the storms we face, whether health crises, mental battles, addiction, grief, or fear, do not catch God off guard. He is present in every one of them.

The message walks us through two vivid moments in the life of Peter, once being terrified in a storm-tossed boat while Jesus slept nearby, and once stepping out onto the water only to sink when fear took over. Both moments point to the same truth: the storms do not define us, but our response to them does. We are challenged to make a conscious decision, just as Peter eventually did, to trust the One who has already proven He can calm the wind and the waves. There is life after the storm, and it begins when we choose to anchor ourselves in that truth.
