This message explores what it means to operate with spiritual authority through the name of Jesus - not as a magic formula, but as genuine power of attorney to do what Christ would do if He were physically present today. Drawing from the story of Elijah and Elisha in 2 Kings 2, we discover that receiving a double portion of anointing wasn't about physically witnessing a spectacular event. Fifty prophets and forty-two young people saw Elijah taken up to heaven, yet only Elisha received the mantle. The difference? Elisha saw beyond the natural spectacle into the spiritual realm, perceiving the source of Elijah's anointing rather than just the manifestation. This same principle applies to us today. When Jesus looked up to heaven before feeding the multitudes, He wasn't just gazing at clouds or stars - He was seeing into the heavenly realms where the Father dwells, perceiving what the natural eye cannot see. We are called to this same spiritual vision. Through Christ's resurrection, Ephesians tells us we've been raised up and seated with Him in heavenly places, not to make us divine, but to position us where we can commune with Jesus and receive His direction. This is our power of attorney - the legal spiritual authority to transact Kingdom business exactly as Jesus would, healing broken hearts, setting captives free, and bringing sight to the spiritually blind. The question isn't whether God still wants to do mighty things, but whether we're willing to see beyond the natural realm and allow Him to work through us.
