Lonard Gibson
Lonard was married to Lib Craigo-Gibson until her passing. Together they had four children: Mert Workman, Jerry Bailey, Barb McClanahan, and Rocky Gibson. Later in life Lonard married Ruby Truette-Gibson. Lonard was well known for his rich baritone and bass singing. He belonged to several gospel groups including The Mission Four. Marietta Workman
Mert was married to Ralph Workman all of her life. They have two daughters, Portia Payne and Tracy Workman. Mert's piano playing skills were known all across the area. To this day, many say they've never heard anyone play like she did. She founded and was a part of many gospel groups including The Missionettes, Jr. Missionettes, and Gospel Generations. Barb and Danny McClanahan
Barb and Danny have two children: Emily King and Jason McClanahan. Barb sang in the choir and was a part of multiple gospel groups including The Jr. Missionettes and Gospel Generations. Danny was also in Gospel Generations as well as several other groups. In addition, he played bass guitar for The Jr. Missionettes.
Mary Gibson
Mary was married to Hershel Gibson. They have two sons: Lucas Gibson and Cody Gibson. Mary was part of the Faithful Friends group for many years. She was also in charge of the costume room for any plays and skits performed at the church. Her handiwork can still be seen in performances today. She was often called The Costume Lady, a title that she delighted in.
Burl and Jackie Burgess
Burl and Jackie had one son, Fred Burgess. Burl sang in the church choir and is well remembered for his poetry and thoughtful testimonies. Jackie sang for many years in the church choir and was a member of The Missionettes, singing bass. Jackie is the daughter of RL and Fern Gibson, founders of BCOGM.
Jim and Francis Whittington
They resided in Cedar Grove, WV until the early 50s when they moved to Bancroft, WV to be near family and seek employment. Jim was hired by Monsanto Chemical Plant in Nitro, WV and remained there until retirement.
Jim and Francis became active members of BCOGM in the early 50's. Jim served as a deacon, played guitar for the Missionettes, and served as a custodian.
